Artist Statement


As a photographer I feel that it is my job to capture moments in time. The people and places that I photograph are memories in my own life that I would like to share with my viewers. Most of my photographs are taken in black and white, although my landscape photographs are in color. I feel that black and white photographs give the picture simplicity and exemplify the raw qualities of nature and people that make them who and what they are. My landscape photographs are done in color because I think that the beauty in nature is embraced by the vivid colors it surrounds. These photographs are also very simple. I believe that it is the simplest of pictures that possesses the most meaningful qualities. This is because nature is best photographed in its purest form. I hope the photographs that I have taken will mean as much to the viewer as they do to me. I also wish that my photographs will open the imagination of many minds and influence them to view life in a creative manner as I do.
